Message of President
How do you think we bring up bilingual Japanese who make a contribution to internationalization of Japan through enjoying cross culture communication.
Viewing from cliants' angle, we will propel an foreign language education at early stage in life.
There are no peoples but the Japanese who can not communicate with foreigners with all long term efforts of studying English.
It is well known that long and hard efforts are required if you missed the suitable time to learn a language.
A baby of around one year can imitate any sound in the world. It said that the years of a baby from newly-born to 3 years old are decisively important, as baby's cerebrums grow most rapidly.
If you live in only Japanese language, your left brain get an advantage over your right brain. (Only Japanese and Polynesian are simple brain languages, that is their left brain hear both vowels and consonants. Other languages are compound brain language, that is their left brain hear consonants and their right brain hear vowels.)
It is pointed out that if you learn English or other languages in your infancy, you can make the most use of your right brain and manage your compound brains.
It is important for you to prepare your home environment at early stages in order to bring up bilingual Japanese.
It brings on entirely difference from forced teaching after your child completely speaks Japanese that your child learns naturally a foreign language enjoying games with pleasure in infancy.
'A language for communication' means to be all ears to the other party and to communicate with the whole body. According to the various contexts in daily life, one expression has different meanings. Even if you memorize many expressions apart from contexts, you can not make use of them as occasion demands. It is in infancy that you can learn naturally 'life vocabularies', 'expressions as occasion calls', 'grammar for native speakers' and ' body languages' through playing games.
A film adapted from Steaven King's novel 'IT' was telecasted in the title of 'ƒCƒbƒg' in Japan. Not a few Japanese didn't understand what the title meant in spite of the most familiar English word. This is caused by lack of understanding about children's plays in English speaking countries.
Understanding a language is closely related with knowing its cultural backgraund. It is very useful for actual communication to have your children learn inartificially cultural backgraunds.
As the basic policy of our education of children, we attach a greatest weight to cultivating their self-reliance through satisfying their curiosity and inquiry, searching their good points, let them to have confident.
We have children comprehend the difference of psychological motivation between Japanese and other languages, and foster the way of thinking directly in a foreign language, instead of conventional school education in which students replace grammatically English with Japanese.
We adopt a method of teaching accounted much of experiential activity such as plats, games, songs performing musical instruments, greetings and having a little dramatical performance. We also aim at having children become intimate with foreign language and be concerned with life and culture in foreign countries.
It is not necessary for you parents to be proficient at foreign language. But it's important for you to keep an attitude of enjoying it together with your children. If you don't know Japan as a Japanese, you can not be international. It is your part to teach your children Japanese and it's culture.
We have almost same policy for teaching students over junior high school and adult, you can choose your most interesting contents which answer your purpose. If you want to be a football player, we adopt football as teaching matetials. If you are a car mania, a car is recommendable. If you are a business man, we attach importance to business expressions of the industry and the cultural background of the language, and then try to extend the categories of your interest.
